Analysis of characteristics of workers with occupational benzene poisoning in Jiangsu province, 2006-2018

Objective: To investigate the characteristics of workers with occupational benzene poisoning in Jiangsu Province during 2006-2018, find out susceptible population and provide some evidence for establishing exposure standards workers. Methods: Questionnaire is tool that we adopt to collect basic information Benzene detector applied detect concentration working environments. Statistical description analysis was conducted analyze prevalence 2006-2018. Results: The number cases these years 145, 28 them were diagnosed induced leukemia; patients mainly worked manufacturing industry (89.7%); most distributed small factories (43.4%) private companies (46.2%). Male took a major part acute poisoning(80%)while female had higher proportion chronic (65%). Most 30-49 age group (80%). There no evident differences among seniority groups, 1-19 old (82.9%); mostly under 0.6mg/m³ (40%). Conclusions: departments disease prevention should heighten surveillance small-scale industry, regular physical examination health education be low exposure, safety protection measures taken reduce incidence poisoning.
